I wanted to create a destination where people want to be, with an emphasis on quality design, space and light - creating functional and practical homes for 21st Century living - Des Ewing Architect

The design of Readers Park is simple and clean, set in landscaping to the front and back of the houses and against the mature leafy backdrop of the trees on Ross's Avenue.

The perfectly presented frontages create a lasting statement of style and quality.

The central green in Readers Park is curved to create a focal point from which the streets radiate off effortlessly. This green space is the lung to the site; distinctive and welcoming, it gives a unique character to the overall design with its mature trees and flowing pathways.

Further in to the site, the streets have a more urban feel with a variety of house types. The street scapes are softened with green space or planting along the frontages and back gardens enclosed with hedging.

New homes with a sense of quality and timeless style
The houses at Readers Park are inspired by both the victorian architecture visible in Ballyclare and the clean sharp lines of contemporary design.  They have been designed to deliver everything a modern family is looking for in a modern home including space, light, clean finishes and storage.

The exterior design of the houses is deceptively simple, mixing traditional with contemporary to create a visually spectacular range of homes that exude a real sense of quality and timeless style

We have used traditional materials of the highest quality fused together to ensure the design blends beautifully into the rural landscape with a seamless transition between interior and exterior living space.

Windows and doors are elements that really make a house and we spent time concentrating on their proportions to make the houses look as attractive and balanced as possible.

The room layouts have been planned to maximise natural light, their functional design has been carefully proportioned and offers a wonderful informal and relaxed living environment. Bedrooms are also spacious, with adequate room for beds and storage in all houses

Natural beauty in harmony with the countryside
We have produced a design that is appropriate for the development's countryside setting and that will sit comfortably with Northern Ireland's vernacular.

The existing trees form a natural backdrop that softens the impact of the houses on the site and its boundary lines. Fundamental to the success of Readers Park are the landscaped gardens and green spaces that contrast beautifully with the construction materials used.

The hedges and greenery at the front of the houses soften the look of the scheme and will enhance it as the landscaping matures.

The Park
Providing a focal point for the development, the green space within Readers Park creates a fantastic open area for all homeowners.

Formed along the line of a historical stonewall and hedge line The Park offers instant maturity enriched by planned sympathetic planting and landscaping.

The Park will provide a local play area, space for ball games as well as quiet peaceful areas where people can relax and watch the world go by.

The parkland area is already formed and will grow, as Readers Park develops, to complement Ross's Avenue and the surrounding rural settings.
